Bahahaha! When he was recovering from surgery and they wouldn't allow him extra painkillers, the only thing I could think of to take his mind off the pain was Civilisation. It worked quite well, in fact. But he's now got a posse of nippers he plays with online most of the time, so I'm spared that...

Watching movies is easy - I've been bonding with y 13 yr old by playing Arkam City (I drew the line at Code of Honor). If i did not have a boy I would happily NEVER know every single plot point to every single video game out there.

They were the dreaded Komodo dragons! Not sure how accurate their hunting techniques were, either, but that also made for excellent film. And, YES, even in Malaysia there was a general sigh of approval when the Aston Martin came out of the garage...

Sounds as though you had a lovely time! We thought it was great too, though I agree about both the plot holes and the geography. And although we've not been to Shanghai, we have been to Macau...So what were the animals in Macau?
PS It was a 12a over here, and there were some 7/8 yr olds in the Fakenham cinema - they seemed to like it too. I liked the bit where he gets the old car out of the garage and it does all the things it used to do!

Oh don't! I had to take a critique of the geography of Turkey out of the copy. "A central Istanbul car chase that magically opens up instantly into some countryside with no sign of crossing the sea, and meets a very unTurkish railway." Also, I'm not sure lifts in Shanghai elevators are that easy to open from the inside.

*coughs*

I believe in suspension of disbelief.

Hahaha, I just saw it myself this weekend with the boy! Enjoyable for sure but I'm the sort to spend the walk back home disseminating plot holes, not cause I don't like it but it bothered me that the tube train would allegedly crash through that much brick and not stop far earlier and I want to mention it. Or if that many pillars fell down they're there for support underground, not decoration, so the whole thing would've collapsed...

Yeah I don't know why anyone hangs out with me either. ;-)
